Fayetteville native Jay Baby shares all with Concealed Media

Ahead of the release of his highly anticipated album Church Boy 2, a few weeks ago Concealed Media sat down with North Carolina recording artist Jay Baby to discuss his latest project, DBE (Duffle Boy Entertainment), his influences, and much more.

A native of Fayetteville, Jay Baby has always had a natural gift when it comes to music, and when he started taking his rap career serious, it came as naturally as breathing. Jay Baby made his debut last year with Church Boy 1 and songs like “Talk To You”, “Glory” featuring WarBabyK and PUNCH Moeskrilla, instantly caught on with fans. When asked to describe his style Jay Baby said he doesn’t have just one, he has the ability to switch it up.

“When I came into it I was just doing it for fun but I was always good at it,” he said. “I collaborated with like six of seven artist across North Carolina just to show I can be on whatever they on…Then at the end of last year I dropped my first solo album.”

With Church Boy 2, which dropped on Nov. 5, Jay Baby said he’s looking to tap into a new fan base while also giving his old fans some new music. Songs like “DBEski”, “Angels Sing”, and “Hunndid Thousand Thoughts”, are some of the early favorites off the project.

“This one I really wanted to sit on because I feel like the first one was good…it was special, it set me apart…but this one is so much better,” he continued. “

“I was trying to just see what I can do as far as carting on that series and it turned out being so much better so this time I’m going to spend a lot more time investing in promotional things like that because o realize in the industry that’s what a lot of it is.”
